Perhaps no sci-fi series ever explored having the power of God as much as Star Trek. The original series alone gave us Gary Mitchell in the first episode.Then in episode 3 writers introduced Charlie X. Later we would be introduced to god's with senses of humor, pettiness and compassion through Trelane (The Squire of Gothos) and connected to Trelane, The Q Continuum.

So now there are rumors that JJ Abrams and his crew who explore "where man has gone before"  will next explore what happens with their universe's Gary Mitchell.

Cons-I still wish Abrams would have just created another Star Trek Series...even set in a time around the original. I do however understand a writer wanting to add and create new stories with great characters. I think we all do those stories in our heads if not as major motion pictures.

Pros-I love that JJ Abrams got it 100% right as far as the characters in the first Star Trek, right on down to having Majel "Nurse Chapel" Barret as the computer voice.

I love that JJ Abrams respects the original series work to actually stage his in an alternate universe.

If Abrams and his crew do as good a job on what I am until further notice calling The Wrath Of Gary Mitchell? I won't be disappointed.
